For many women, natural progesterone cream appears to provide significant relief from symptoms related to shifts in the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone. The presence of progesterone in the body sensitizes oestrogen receptor sites thus enabling oestrogen to work more efficiently. Progesterone is a precursor to other hormones in the body including oestrogen, testosterone, and especially the corticosteriods. Progesterone is regarded as 'the feel good' hormone.
Oestrogen Dominance & The Menopause: During the menopause, progesterone production tends to fall to almost zero while oestrogen declines to about 40% to 50%. This situation leads to an imbalance between oestrogen and progesterone causing an increase in oestrogen activity, which is now described as oestrogen dominance. Decreasing supplies of oestrogen can cause hormonal imbalances, producing
hot flashes
mood swings
urinary urgency
poor concentration
Oestrogen Dominance & Menstrual Problems: When a woman’s monthly cycle is functioning correctly, oestrogen is the dominant hormone during the first two weeks of the menstrual cycle. In response to ovulation, progesterone should assume dominance for the final two weeks of the month. For younger and pre-menopausal women imbalances can occur in this cycle are often associated with:
irregular periods
PMS
endometriosis
the start of the menopause (in older women)
About Natural Progesterone Cream Natural progesterone cream is plant based from either soybeans or Mexican wild yam. When wild yam is used a molecule called diosgenin is extracted from the plant and converted into a molecule exactly like that of human progesterone. The natural hormone is then added back into the cream. The hormone is believed to pass through the skin and then circulate through the body.
